TabStrata Privacy Policy
TabStrata is a Chrome extension that helps you organize browser tabs into organizations and collections. This policy explains what data is handled and how.
Data we handle
TabStrata stores the following on your device using Chrome’s local extension storage:
- Organizations, collections, tags, colors, and sort preferences
- Saved tab titles, URLs, descriptions, and favicon URLs you choose to save
- Notes you create inside collections
- Quick links and UI settings (theme, palette, text size, optional new-tab preference)
To show live open tabs, TabStrata reads the title and URL of tabs in your Chrome windows. That information is used in the extension UI and is only persisted when you save tabs into a collection.
What we do not do
- No account or sign-in is required
- We do not operate a TabStrata cloud backend in this version
- We do not sell your data
- We do not use your data for advertising, credit decisions, or unrelated analytics products
- We do not inject scripts into websites to scrape page content
Network requests
The extension may request favicon images for sites you have open or saved, and may load fonts from Google Fonts for the UI. These requests are for display only.
Data storage and control
Data remains in your browser profile via chrome.storage.local. You can export or import JSON backups from within TabStrata, and you can remove the extension to delete its local data (subject to Chrome’s uninstall behavior).
Children
TabStrata is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date above. Material changes that affect how data is handled will be reflected in the Chrome Web Store listing as required.
